A few favorites from Leah + Jack’s Valentine’s Day Mini Session!
Just a reminder that I’m on maternity leave! Jackson Cole arrived 12/04/2013.
Thank you for being patient as I might take a little bit longer to respond to emails right now.
It’s been awhile since I did a backyard mini session with Leah– so when she let me put a headband on her for the first time in 9 months, I jumped at the opportunity to take some cute pictures I also sanded and re-painted her red chair that she uses for brushing her teeth and I love how it turned out in gray. I’ve been sewing some more bunting banners when I have time, so I grabbed one and hung it between two trees in the yard. The whole session lasted about 15 minutes… with the promise of chocolate M+M’s at the end and my husband jumping around behind me to make her smile
I can’t believe she’ll be 2 years old in a month!
Also— just a reminder that I’ll be taking maternity leave starting at the end of October. I know I announced it before, but for those that missed it– I’m posting it again! Baby boy is due at the end of November, so I’m taking a little break before and after he arrives. This means any fall sessions need to be scheduled ASAP if you want a spot– which right now are very limited.
Out of the Office!
To keep up to date with announcements, I usually only post on facebook HERE. However, it’s been awhile since I posted a personal post, so I wanted to take the time to do so! I also want to make sure everyone is aware that I will be away this week.
PLEASE NOTE: I will be out of the office from Monday, August 26th until Saturday, August 31st. I will NOT be responding to emails or phone calls until I come back. Please don’t think I’m ignoring you! I won’t have access to a computer during that time.
I will be spending the week camping with this little cutie…..
Doesn’t she look like fun?!
And enjoying some much needed family time before baby #2 arrives….
Leah is growing super fast. We received a letter in the mail the other day about college!!
This girl loves to brush her teeth. I only hope that it lasts. We now have a “duckie” timer since I’m pretty sure she would stand there all night.
My husband Shawn worked hard on our kitchen all Spring + Summer. It still needs some finishing touches. But it sure feels great to have a useable kitchen after 3 years.
Do you remember what it looked like before? Pure disaster…. Here’s an iphone pic to remind you….
Yes, we had plywood floors for 3 years in there……
And here is Leah supervising the work….
And here is what is looks like now
We still need the backsplash, trim, etc…. but I can finally use my cabinets, unpack our dishes, and we have a real floor now!!
We also re-did the bathroom and created a pantry (the other side of the photo).
Have a great week!
Last time we made a cute little stop action video to announce our first pregnancy (click this link to see that post!). This time, I decided to do something a little more familiar to me… a photo Saw a cute variation of this on pinterest and decided to put my own spin on it.
Yesterday, we found out we’re having a boy! We couldn’t be more thrilled. His estimated arrival is late November.
I’ll be taking off all of November, December and possibly most of January. Please make sure to schedule any fall lifestyle or engagement appointments well in advance… I’m already booking October! I will only be accepting as much as I can handle around the weddings I already have scheduled for October.
I won’t be filling up too much of my blog or facebook about my pregnancy. You can follow me on instagram for that! @ lauralphoto
Last year I did a post every Friday with a picture of Leah titled ” i heart fridays”. Fridays are my time at home with Leah, and I cherish them so much. It’s “us” time that I don’t get during the week or on the weekends. I’m glad I have this to look back on a see how much she’s grown! This year I haven’t been so diligent about getting out my real camera and taking pictures… but it’s only March so I’m going to change that!! Pictures are so important to me (obviously). I love that just by looking at them you’re taken back to a place and time to remember how you were feeling in that exact moment. I also think that getting PRINTS of your pictures is very important. I love that my parents made Leah a book of her “friday” posts for Christmas, and now Leah loves looking through pictures of herself too.
